Sinclair baseball finally brought its bats to the ballpark On March 9, the Tartan Pride (5-4) routed the University of Cincinnati Clermont 18-8 at Grady’s Field in Xenia. The Pride are on a three-game win streak and have won four of their last five games. The night belonged to the Sinclair sluggers. Pitcher chooses Sinclair over minor leagues

After getting picked in the 23rd round of the MLB Draft in June 2009, pitcher Austin Pressly turned down $75,000 from the Milwaukee Brewers and came to Sinclair Community College. “I said I’d sign (with the Brewers) for $150,000,” Pressly said. “They ended up not giving me the money I wanted because their head guy had to watch me (throw) and he never came.” Pressly, a Franklin-Monroe graduate and 2009 All-Area Division IV Player of the Year, said it was a tough decision passing up the... The Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs dominated the NBA’s Western Conference in the 2000s. The two teams combined for nine conference titles over the last 10 seasons. It’s clear the Spurs are not as strong as in previous years, so the West is open to contenders looking to knock off the defending champion Lakers. Sinclair baseball loses weekend

The Sinclair Tartan Pride baseball team didn’t open its 2010 season in ideal fashion. After traveling to Georgia for two doubleheaders in two days against Young Harris College on Feb. 27 and 28, the Tartan Pride returned home with a 1-3 record. In the opening game, Sinclair fell behind 3-0 after two innings until the Tartan Pride chipped away at the lead. Sinclair tied the game at 3 on a sacrifice fly by Zach Stewart.
